Are We Ready For The Full Monty On Ice?
Could that be a dick in the box from Ashley for Christmas?
Way back in 1997 the movie The Full Monty smashed records across the world and made a whopping £300million at the international box office. Not bad for a movie about a bunch of average looking guys getting their kit off.
Fast forward over 20 years and after a successful west end musical based on the film, ITV cranked out The Real Full Monty featuring various celebs stripping off for charity. Curated by Coleen Nolan and Ashley Banjo, the shows were a ratings success and three years later, it’s time for the latest spin off in the form of The Real Full Monty On Ice. Yes that’s a bit of a mouthful and with some of the guys participating, that’s no bad thing.
Quite how stripping on ice is going to work and men’s bits plus extreme cold has never been a good match, we’re willing to give it a go if some of the cast are anything to go by. Of course you get your empowered ladies doing it for the good cause, which as always is cancer awareness and reminding people to check themselves regularly, it’s about the boys this year for us. Let’s have a quick look at the highlights ready to flash their baubles in our direction.
Chris Hughes and his giant ball
Ashley Banjo
The 32-year-old is a big hitter for ITV since winning Britain’s Got Talent with his dance troupe Diversity. Since then he’s been a TV judge on various shows, most recently Dancing On Ice where he must have come up with the idea for this year’s show. Lucky for us he’s easy on the eye and as a dancer he’s got a fit muscled up bod, reason in itself to tune in on December the 14th and 15th.
Chris Hughes
You might recognise Chris from Love Island and at 27 he’s one of the youngest to feature on this year’s festive show. If you’re a fan of the show you’ll know he made it to the top three back in 2017 and dated Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson until earlier this year. As a former Love Islander, a good physique is a must so expect Hughes to be melting some ice with his hotness.
Jake Quickenden
Jake's quickening our pulses with his finger work
32-year-old reality stalwart Quickenden is no stranger to being on screen or getting his kit off. The former X- Factor star has been on the show twice, in 2012 and 2014 and then went on to feature on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. In 2018 he won Dancing On Ice so should be toe pick in to do well on this Christmas’ challenge. He’s got a perma-tan and some sexy tattoos so let’s hope he gets plenty of screen time.
Gareth Thomas
Former professional rugby league and union player Gareth, 46, is perhaps best known for coming out in 2009. He was declared a trailblazer and even the most influential gay person in the UK, receiving Stonewall’s Hero of the Year award as well. What he’s going to be like on the ice is anybody’s guess but we’re looking forward to him getting his kit off in one of the two 90-minute specials.
